BY FABULIST
Hey Fabulistas! We have gone out into the world and we have brought you back a summery picnic basket of goodies! We're giving away TWO copies of the new Ed Harcourt album, and TWO copies of the new Ravens and Chimes album. So... (counts on fingers).. that's FOUR winners. We're upping your chances to get some free stuff to cool you off this fine week in July, or heat you up, whichever you prefer.

How do you win? Just leave a comment below with your favorite thing to do in summer. (Mine: Skipping in the downpour of a summer thunderstorm.) We'll pick four winners at random from the pile. Good luck!

Check out more from Ravens and Chimes here, and more from Ed Harcourt below.

Seeing Ed Harcourt! (I've been sort of tour-stalking him across the state this spring and summer.)

Failing that, biking to my favorite bar in San Francisco early on a weekday when the patio out back isn't crowded, and buying tamales from the Tamale Lady.

I have to say my favorite thing in the summer is all the big summer movies that are released! When it's a blistering hot day, I just love sitting in the air conditioned dark, munching my popcorn, watching a great movie. Especially if I have a sweetheart with me...

Walking the local trails. Yesterday at dusk there must have been 100,000 fireflies.
When it gets brutally hot, my favorite thing in the world is chilling in my air conditioned room.
I really love my air conditioner.
Yes, I think I'll marry it.

(New Ed Harcourt, omg.)

Monsoon season has officially started here in Tucson, so my favorite thing to do right now is to get up from my desk (along with my coworkers) and bask in the rain. It's ritual here in the desert.

Happy Summer, Fabulist!

Going to the park with friends in tow, where we might play frisbee and fly kites, bask in the sun, read books and have snoozes..

Getting melted drippy icecream all over my fingers is important too..

My favorite thing to do in the summer is to swim in the fountains around edmonton on nights that are above 25 degrees at midnight with people from my hometown that make the trip out to visit me on my weekends off.

Hang cherries from my ears, eat raspberries off of my fingertips, and make insensibly frilly dresses to wear indoors when the summer is over.

(It's winter here in Australia)

the pain of going down my dirt road barefoot and then that relief when a small patch of soft warm sand comes along. it feels like soft marshmallows and silk after those rocks. knowing my feet are shedding that weak winter skin and growing tougher my the minute.

Running around the park, playing with water balloons and squirt guns on a hot summer day!
