I never really listened to Cibo Matto, so I missed Miho Hatori's solo debut Ecdysis when it was released in the U.S. on my 30th birthday. But if this video is any indication, it would have been the perfect birthday present, complete with towering mushrooms, two-headed gazelle-antelope-deer type creatures, and a mysterious little lady in a tiny, wandering boat. I'm a little late joining this long, dark funhouse ride of the soul. But I'm on board now.
