Part of this season's Christmas adventure was getting to rifle through a pile of Oscar screeners-- most of which, admittedly, were pretty depressing fare. So what ended up being the feel-good movie of the bunch? Juno! Who knew that underage pregnancy could leave you with such a warm, loving glow? (In a manner of speaking.) The intro animation (here) is as wonderful as the film, and it name drops featured artists Kozyndan, David Choe and Tara McPherson in the credits, AND it has a soundtrack made of one-hundred-percent awesome. (Just try to get these songs out of our head. You can't. It can't be done. They're simply made of too much awesome.)

Kimya Dawson - Loose Lips

Lori and I finally went and saw Juno this past Saturday. Wonderful! So nice to see just a warm, moving, uncynical film. Lovely performances all around, and some very daring writing.
