BY LAND OF MUSIC
Being Brazilian and never actually having been to Brazil, I am always fascinated by the bits of the country I come across from time to time. I found this album over the holidays, which remixes traditional songs by Sergio Mendes, a Brazilian singer and national treasure. The songs are mostly turned into samba-hip-hop creatures, featuring the likes of Black Eyed Peas, Pharoahe Monch, and Erykah Badu, among others. The effects are mixed since each song is done with a different singer, but there is some lovely stuff-- and it's a fairly ambitious project, if you take a look at the line-up. (Stevie Wonder? Justin Timberlake?)

I like the track, and the rest looks pretty great. Thanks!

(Keep up the good work.)

Is this the same Sergio Mendes who did the David Bowie covers in Portugese for the soundtrack to The Life Aquatic with Steve Zisou? If so, very nice work

Actually, I think that was Seu Jorge. :)
