I know you've been desperately needing a new band to have a crush on. That's why I'm here, to help you. I have someone(s) I'd like you to meet. They're called The Blow, and they're from Portland. The Blow is made up of Khaela Maricich & Jona Bechtolt (some of you may know Jona as Yacht, and he has some excellent Architecture In Helsinki remixes on his myspace.)
From the K Records site: "Jona's percussive savvy bumps and trips under Khaela's intimate, insistent vocals. No-wave and glitchhop, club anthems and doo-wop, all party together in the architecture created by The Blow's sound." You will not be able to stop listening to this. Now, how about I leave you guys alone and let you get...acquainted.
True Affection (from "Paper Television")
The Love That I Crave (from "Poor Aim - Love Songs EP")
Come On Petunia (from "Poor Aim - Love Songs EP")
Buy their new album, "Paper Television"
Befriend these kind folks!

I saw them (her?) a few months ago with Architecture in Helsinki in Athens... Kayla was alone, which I think is how they play their shows, I could be wrong.. but she is performance art in herself -- she acted out everything she was talking about. She also rambles a lot while she is onstage and is constantly out of breath because she is dancing and singing with such emphasis. Interesting, though not exactly my cup of tea. Wait, I take that back, the music is definitely worth listening to, the live show, however... eh.
