One John Hodg-man (also known as "the PC guy," also known as "former professional literary agent," also known as, probably, many other things) and one Jonathan Coulton host the podcast versions of The Little Gray Book Lectures, which is lucky since some of us have never been privileged enough to travel all the way to New York to see one in person. A must-listen for the McSweeny's crowd, NPR yuppies, genuine nerds, or just anyone with a fairly odd sense of humor, the Lectures "are a series of readings, songs, demonstrations, discussions, and occasional overhead projections that have been held near-monthly in Williamsburg, Brooklyn since 2001," and they are brilliant. Unfortunately, the podcasts only feature snippets of the two hour lectures, but one takes what one can get, doesn't one?
You can download the podcasts here. I especially recommend "We Remember: Hints on Public Singing."
Mr. Jonathan Coulton is a rather talented musician and is industrious enough to post a new song every week on his website. Listen to and sing along with his songs and, if you can, give him money.
Furthermore, the 700 Hoboes project has taken off, and is hobolicious. If you haven't heard of it since you have been living under a rock (with, presumably, no WiFi), here is some background information.
Even further, Hodgman's fantastic "Areas Of My Expertise" is now out in paperback, and to celebrate and hock his wares, he and Coulton are going on a tour, so you can go hassle them lovingly and bring them baked goods.
This post should be full enough of things to click on to keep you busy for awhile (and hopefully somewhat entertained.)
That is all.
