Chris Sickels' illustrations are full of whimsy. If you can call them illustrations-- I suppose it's more puppet-sculpture-photography. (And animation, in some cases.) I love the strange scenes he depicts, and even though I have a deeply ingrained suspicion that all puppets are homicidal maniacs, I think his puppets might be emotionally stable and not succumb to visions of decapitated babies. Might.

Check out his Flickr stream, too. Love, your interweb espresso junkie.

I didn't really want you to feel left out, with your fancy iPods-- here's a site that has skins for your iPod (4th gen and video) featuring art from the likes of Glenn Barr (pictured), Gary Baseman, Jeff Soto and a score of others. Artists get royalties from each purchase, and they have a pretty huge collection, as well as selling skins for your iBook/Powerbook.

I am still one of those suckers sporting an obsolete iPod Mini-- if you are among my ranks, there are still cool things in the world for you that those high-and-mighty I-own-a-iPod-Nano will never get to experience.

Tokidoki has a set of iSkin sleeves made just for the Minis and Shuffles, coming in a variety of little cartoon cacti and hot girls bending over. Take *that* iPod Nano. Ha! You don't get the sexy bent over asian girl plastered across your little face do you? Nuh-uh. Only me and my iPod MINI get the sexy bent over asian girls. And don't you forget it.

Easter is right around the corner. And I had no idea that Peeps-- those marshmallow fluff things that sometimes pass as food-- had such a product line.

But what really got me is this tee-shirt-- I bought one this weekend at a boutique in Venice. Besides being billions of cute, it is official Peeps merchandise. Which is hard to believe considering what they usually sell.

This stainless steel contraption makes tea sexy. The Teastick can be used to scoop up loose-leaf tea, and then functions a strainer to steep your tea. Dripping with design-savvy, it seems to have caught the eye of I.D. magazine as one of last year's "Most Intriguing Products." I haven't used one yet, but you can buy it online for all of $18.

What makes you wake up in the morning and decide you wanted to be able to brush your teeth in the morning with curry toothpaste? Pumpkin pudding? Yogurt?

This is one more from the land of Japanese Super Cute Fun Pop. A 31-Flavor Toothpaste Kit, including, yes, curry (!) but also some exotic tastes that do sound neat-- Darjeeling Tea, Japanese Plum, White Peach. They also have mouthwash.

Oh yeah. Sweet potato mouthwash.

Plastic and Plush has posted a preview of Android 8/Mark Osborne's More figure.

Why is this interesting? Because it reminds me of the animated short the figure is based on, which I am deeply in love with. If you haven't seen it, you must. Now. Go here to see it.

The film was also edited to be the music video for Kenna's song, Hell Bent. (If you play it over the film, it goes perfectly, and make some nice commentary as well...)

...this also passed the Jewlie test. They fare from Bon Bon Chicago, which I can vouch for as overflowing with magical yummy things.

Yes. They are doing what you think they're doing.

This link passed the Jewlie test. I sent it to her, and she immediately bought some for her cat-- we're splitting a pack, so my feline will also get the joy of these small drug sticks.

From the site: "Matatabi is Japanese catnip. Specifically it is a vine in the kiwi family that produces fruit. We import our matatabi logs directly from a small organic farm located in the mountains of Wakayama, in Japan. For ages cats have been enjoying matatabi's vine, leaves, and fruit. Our organic matatabi is coated in the powder of the dried fruit. "

Sounds fancy, right? It's just catnip. The marketing language folk at this company deserve an "A+" -- the product sounds like a million dollars, and costs only five bucks.

They're pillows. They smile at you. Sometimes, if you're lucky, they'll stick their tongue out at you. And that's where the real trouble starts.

I've had too much chai. These emoticon pillows are great for pillow fights, I think. You should drink chai, and preorder the whole set of pillows for $20, and have a pillow fight. That is your homework for today.

There's this sort of Kafka feel to the start of the video, with the human-like bug (or bug-like human?) all goin' around.

It is kind of amazing! I'd love to hear what you think when you see it, Aline MacMahon's character is my favorite. :)
