In an attempt to refurbish every available surface into a branding opportunity, the Japanese have begun to revamp barcodes into functional art pieces. Some samples include bar codes that look like houses, pizzas, and tidal waves-- they work like normal bar codes, and will be launched on a series of green tea beverages in Japan. (link) : via
