Ah, yes.. I'm not sure why but this is a message that people really
need to get out there, on a t-shirt.

This is old news from October, but I didn't know about it... apparently Apple is opening "Mini" stores across the US. Tiny things in seamless wall-to-wall aluminum, with self-service checkout counters for credit card users. Several locations are already open.

From EW: What's with that harem of Japanese chicks following Gwen Stefani
everywhere she goes? They're Harajuku girls, part of a schoolgirl
subculture (named after a Tokyo shopping district), and now,
apparently, Stefani's muses. She mentions them on ''What You Waiting
For?,'' the new single from her solo CD Love. Angel. Music. Baby., and
they're all over the video. They even have a song devoted to them
(called, yes, ''Harajuku Girls''). The girls dress up like futuristic
comic-book heroines in high-fashion-meets-punk getups & knee-high boots, cutesy minidresses, extreme makeupheaven for a budding designer like Stefani. And they make a wicked stylish entourage.

Whenever possible, members are encouraged to post pictures of the steps involved in making a project as well as the final results.

34 North 118 West is a walking tour in downtown Los Angeles created by
a group of resident artists.
> You roam a half-mile area armed with a GPS receiver, headphones, and
a Tablet PC, which displays your movement on a digital version of a
century-old map. Hot spots trigger audio accounts of the city's history
as a bustling railroad hub. The route you take determines the stories
and their tellers - a cook, the station clock inspector, a worker
clearing the tracks after a suicide.

The Voltaic backpack is a mobile power source, designed to charge your
gadgets without tying you to a power outlet.
Embedded in the back of the bag are three tough, light weight, waterproof solar panels, which generate up to 4 watts of power.
Inside the bag is a Li Ion battery pack. As in a solar powered house, the battery stores energy so it is available when you need it, not just when the sun is up.
